Being a part of the Living Room CD has been an incredible blessing. Through many rehearsals and time spent with the band, I became connected to each person in the band and learned so many new things about myself.
Although I was raised in a Christian home and grew up in the church, I never did realize my passion and love for worship and music as much as I did through this project. In understanding my passion for worship and seeing God’s heart for me, I was able to experience the love of God as we dove into worship as a band. Many late night practices became nights of open worship. We would occasionally let go of “the plan” and simply allow the spirit to move in our hearts. During one of these times the Lord spoke to me about his deep love for me.
Even though my creator knows every thought in my mind and every piece and part of my heart, he loves me just the same. He loves me just as I am. The song “I Thank You” has impacted and has been meaningful to me over the course of the project. The song talks about God’s great love for us and his goodness through our mistakes and shortcomings. He is the lover of our souls even when we feel worthless. He is GOOD and will not fail us. When we are able to praise God through the storms of life, we can truly see his greatness and grace in our lives. Proclaiming the truth of God’s goodness is fulfilling and satisfying.
So often I find myself wondering, but I know God’s hand is stretched out waiting for me to grab. When we allow God to carry us through the storms of life, He WILL.
